If you have a car that is 7-10 years old and you are planning to keep it for another few years it is a great idea to get you car a repaint. Here are a few benefits to getting your car repainted.

1) Your car will look brand new, and that will boost your self confidence.

2) You are investing in the resale value of your car. It is a lot easier to sell a used car when it looks really good, and you will get more for it also.

3) You can put off the purchase of a new car for a few years, and that will save you a big expense right now.

We are currently offering our $1500 factory quality paint job for only $1000. This is a high quality paint job which is guaranteed for 5 years (try getting a warranty from one of those one day paint places). call us or better yet, bring your car by.

Southern California is such a car culture. Most of the time, people will make up assumptions about your character, financial position, or your status based on what you drive. I am sure all of you know someone who drives a 75k car and lives in a $1200/month apartment. While there might be reasons behind people doing that, most people see what you drive rather than where you live, and that’s why we buy expensive cars.

Because of this crazy car culture, the used luxury car market is a booming business, even in this crazy economic times. Why would you buy a brand new Camry, when you can get a 5 year old Mercedes S class for the same price? Lot of people see this kind of logic. While this kind of thinking seems to make a lot of sense, because you get a lot more perceived value in a Benz than a Camry for the same money, and you definitely look “cooler” driving it, you should realize that that Benz cost near a 100 grand 5 years ago, and even though you paid 1/3 of that for it, it will still need all of maintenance and repairs like a $100k car.

All those bells and whistles which are in the Benz just means more stuff to go wrong. and be prepared to spend $200+ for routine oil changes and $700 brake jobs. Now if you are one of the few who can afford that, then it is a very wise decision to buy that 5 year old Benz over a brand new Camry. But for all others, there is hope. Every luxury car maker offers a “Certified Preowned program” and you can go an get a 3 year old or newer car with factory warranty and free maintenance, for 20-40% discount over a comparable new one. So you might not be able to get a S class Mercedes, but you can get a C class or an E class for that 30 grand. Still lot more car than the Camry.

It’s unfortunate when a customer does not need a repaint of the whole vehicle, and they get suckered into a cheaper quality paint job by a shop. Basically they are taking the good quality paint which is on there and covering it up with a lower grade paint job.

You see, people don’t realize that the original paint from the manufacturer is a very good quality paint, and is suppose to last the life of the car. The key here is how well it’s taken care of ? Lot of times, the paint has never seen a layer of wax for years, and it just oxidizes from the sun. Because all factory paint jobs come with a layer of clear coat, this oxidization can be easily sanded and buffed out, and the car would like brand new.

How many times you have seen a car with the hood or the roof all faded and peeling? This can only happen for two reasons, one is that the car is constantly parked in the sun over the years and the clear coat has deteriorated or the panel which is peeling was repainted before with inferior clear coat. Most times, the single individual panel or panels can be repainted and the rest of the car can be buffed out to match the new paint. This would cost a fraction of a complete paint job (good paint job).

Finally if you do need a complete paint job, we have a couple of options. One is a paint job which starts at about $1200 for a car, and it is guaranteed for 5 years. Another one is a lifetime warranty paint job which starts at $2000 which compares with a factory quality paint job. Most people wont be able to tell the difference between them, but it is all in the lifespan of the materials. So why go to one of those 1/2 day paint places where you will spend $800 on a job which wont last more than a year. I know it’s an old cliche’s, but “You always get what you pay for”

The biggest one being the change in location. I have to admit, moving a shop which was somewhat established for 7 years in one location was a bit nerve wrecking, but I kept telling myself that change is great. Why are we so afraid of change? we are afraid to change banks, we are afraid to change our insurance companies, we are afraid to change jobs, and we are afraid to change relationships, even though we know that there are better banks, insurance companies, jobs, and relationships out there.

I know Change is scary, and we generally don’t like to be in the uncharted territory. But change is great because it makes you see things in a different perspective, it gives you a new sense of motivation, it opens up new possibilities which were non existent before. Rarely you will meet a person who says that I made a change and I regret it.

On another note, I would like to thank a few people who helped us through our relocation. I would like to thank Mike Buchs, and Allegra www.allegrabeachcities.com for all the print and signs, Creative Marketing Services www.creativemktgservices.com for a smooth transition on the web, our new Landlord for helping us setup the shop, and our “QA Team”. You all have been very helpful and supportive.

I would like to invite all of our customers to come and visit us at our new location. It is 2525 E Anaheim st in Long Beach.

So, it’s final. We are moving locations. We are moving to 2525 E Anaheim. Don’t worry guys, we are only moving 1.5 miles south, and are still in Long beach. We are really excited to be moving in the historic “Zaferia district. Why are we moving? well, our lease expired and we found a bigger, better, and cheaper location. We will definitely miss our current location, but the opportunities and benefits at the new location are too enticing.

What are we taking and what are we not? well! we are taking our Quality Assured Collision Center” name, along with our laudable customer service, and excellent craftsmanship. The whole Quality Assured Team is moving. We are also taking our “Good Hands Repair Network” partnership with Allstate with us. What we are leaving behind is the leaky roof and blown circuit breakers.

Stay tuned for pictures of the shop and updated website material. Please visit us at our new location, and spread the word about our relocation. We don’t want any of our customers to not know about our relocation. We truly appreciate all of our customers and know that without them we would not exist.

Communication is the most important thing in any kind of relationship. It could be personal or professional. Most relationships fail because lack of communication. When it comes to the repair process after a collision, I believe communication is more important than even the quality of repairs.

I just got of the phone with a customer who was so upset with her insurance company, because they never answer her calls, and don’t return messages. She also was upset with the rental car company because they started charging her credit card for the car rental once the insurance company stopped paying. They never gave her a courtesy call informing her. These are the types of issues which cause consumers to have a bad taste in their mouth and possibly not do business with them again. Do a search for a business on Yelp, or pissed consumers or any other review sites, and most customers who have negative feedback are because of poor communication.

So next time you guys are dealing with a person or a company, notice how they are in communicating with you, but Remember, communication is a two way street, and it takes two to communicate. So do your part and keep notice of theirs.

Driving is a necessity for most of us in California. So what can one do to get the most out of their dollar when it comes to driving more efficiently?

Here are some tips which all of us can follow to get most out of a gallon of gas.

1. Take it easy with the gas pedal. Take those lead weights off from the bottom of your feet. Accelerating too fast means you are working your engine harder and it will burn more fuel.

2. Keep it under 80 mph. All cars have different optimal speed for achieving best fuel mileage, but in general, anything over 65mph will result in diminishing fuel mileage.

3. Trim the Fat. I don’t mean go to the gym and lose some weight (even though that might help), I mean get rid of excess weight in your car. Get rid of those books, cases of water, or anything else which you don’t need. More weight your car carries, less fuel mileage it gets.

4. Choose a more efficient vehicle. This one is tough for car “nuts” like me, because driving a more fuel efficient car usually means driving a slow boring car. But if you want to get serious about saving money on fuel, you need to change your perception. Drive the fast and fun car once a week, and drive the slow and boring car rest of the time. This way you will enjoy and appreciate your fun car more while saving money.

5. Consolidate your driving. Plan a route out before leaving your house to run errands. Use a GPS Navigation so you don’t get lost and drive around unnecessarily. Try to walk or take a bike to the grocery store. Not only this is good for you health, you will also save gas. Did you know that modern cars are most inefficient when they are driven cold and driven for short, stop and go distances.

6. Keep your car tuned up. Get those “Check Engine” lights checked out and fixed. Don’t forget to change the air filter every 6 months.

Quality Assured Collision Center is proud to announce our partnership with Allstate Insurance Company, and we are officially a “Good Hands Repair Network Shop”. Finally our excellent quality of work, and unsurpassed customer service was noticed by a major insurance company, and they have chosen us to help their customers when they have collision repair needs. Did you know that Allstate is the largest publicly held property and casualty insurance company in the United States?

What is a Good Hands Repair Network Shop? And what does it mean to our customers?

For Allstate customers, this means that if you have a claim, you can bring your vehicle to us, and we can start the auto body repairs within 24 hours. This will cut down on collision repair times, and this means you will get you car back faster than before.

For all other customers (customers of other insurance companies), this assures you very high repair standards, and strict deadlines for completion of your vehicle. Allstate requires us to use the highest quality of materials and have most up-to-date equipment to make sure that the repairs are done to the highest industry standards.

Becoming a “Good Hands Repair Shop” has not changed the way we conduct business or our repair process, but it just validates our good reputation as a leading collision repair shop in Long Beach.
